At the 2025 ECOSOC Youth Forum side event on 15 April 2025, a new inter-agency synthesis report, "What works to amplify the rights and voices of youth in education and employment?" was launched. This report, a synthesis of evaluation evidence from about 300 United Nations youth evaluations, provides critical evidence for advancing the United Nations Youth Strategy, Youth 2030.

In a world facing alarming challenges—where 250 million children are out of school and youth unemployment soars—evidence-based youth interventions are more crucial than ever, to better prepare young people for the future of work and learning.
The synthesis, co-led by the UNFPA Independent Evaluation Office and the UNICEF Evaluation Office, in collaboration with nine organizations and youth-led groups, offers evidence to step up programming on youth education and employment globally. This inter-agency knowledge collaboration includes the EvalYouth Global Network, Generation Unlimited, Global Partnership for Education Youth Leaders, ILO, IOM, OHCHR, UNDP, UNESCO, and the United Nations Youth Office.
